Boyle GAA U12s play against St Michaels U12s in the semi-final of the Keenan Cup this Wednesday even in Cootehall at 7pm. All support welcome.

Free Business Workshops in September

Two free business workshops take place this September "Growing your Business" in Breaffy House Hotel Castlebar on this Wednesday September 9th which looks at opportunities for business growth and "Lean Business" in the Radisson Hotel Sligo on Tuesday September 22nd which introduces new ways to identify and implement business efficiencies. Both workshops run from 9.30/12.30 and are part of a programme of business development training organised by Role Skillnet in conjunction with Management Works.
• Other events planned are a one day "Finance Made Simple" course on Wednesday October 7th in Carrick-on Shannon and a one day "Human Resource Management" course on Wednesday October 28th in Boyle.  Role Skillnet, based at Boyle Enterprise Centre provide up to 30% funding towards the cost of training in the workplace. Funding is subject to eligibility criteria.

Boyle GAA Senior team

Boyle club's McGovern Directional Drilling Seniors will be out this Sunday in the quarterfinal of the senior championship against Padraig Pearses. A double header with Castlerea v Clan na Gael at 2pm (quarterfinal also) and Boyle v Pearses at 4pm in Dr Hyde Park. This will be the lads biggest game of the year SO FAR so please come and support the team.

Registration for girl guides

Registration for new and existing LADYBIRDS, BROWNIES AND GIRL GUIDES, 7-8pm this Wednesday evening 9th September in Boyle Tennis Club (beside Family Life Centre). All girls aged 5 upwards welcome. Contact Monica on 086 121 6690 for information.

Run Walk n Roll

The 20th annual Run Walk n Roll event in aid of Cancer Research will take place in Boyle on Sunday 11th of October. With the event celebrating 20 years it would be great to see a big turnout of all ages on  the day so get on your training shoes with 5 weeks to go. Any novelty ideas welcome ... more details next week.

Dwyer Speech & Drama Classes

Speech and Drama classes will begin in the Convent Primary School, Boyle on Thursday evenings from October 1st. Classes for all age groups from Infants to Leaving Cert. Enrolment will be on Sept 24th at 6pm in the Convent Primary School. For further information contact 071 966 6040.

This morning's Lough Key Triathlon 2015 was the 9th running of the annual event. Weather conditions were probably perfect - cool, dry, clear and no rain. Congratulations to the local organising committee, Coillte & Lough Key Management and the 400+ athletes who entered the event. Well done also to the 80+ marshals without whose help, running an event of this size would be impossible.

North Roscommon (Boyle) Athletics Club

Athletics will recommence on Wednesday 16 September at the complex for existing members. Registration for new members takes place in January.

Cannonball Run 2015

Day 1 Friday 11th September: CANNONBALL is the largest organised road trip in Europe and the most exciting motoring and social event of the year. The trip typically features 170 cars including the world's top makes: McLaren, Lamborghini, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Masseratti, Rolls Royce and Bentley.
• The cars will depart from Carrick-on-Shannon at 4.30pm and head to Sligo. They will pass close to Boyle on the N4 at approximately 4.40pm.
