Very friendly black male labrador dog straying at Carty's. He has a distinctive half chain / green fabric collar. He runs to every car that parks at garage and supermarket ... obviously hoping to find his owner

Boyle Camera Club

Great attendance at today's (Sunday 17th) Portraiture Photo Shoot in King House. We are sincerely grateful to King House and Tommy Egan for allowing us use this beautiful location. Thanks to models Caroline and Olivia and other members that gave demonstrations. We look forward to seeing you all again at next month's meeting.

• Sport: There was no joy for the county's representatives on Saturday's playfields with the following lost games: Connacht Senior Hurling League: Hasting Cup Under 21 Football:Challenge Cup Rugby: British and Irish Rugby Cup
• Boyle Basketball Club: Boyle u14 boys won 1 and lost 1 in their league games. They beat Ardcarne and lost out to Carrick.
• Boyle Camera Club: Photoshoot 10am-1pm, Sunday 17th January at King House
• Boyle Credit Union: As a mark of respect on the death of Mrs Eileen Dodd Boyle Credit Union offices will be closed on Monday until 2pm
• Taste Leitrim: In the Cottage Restaurant, Jamestown, Sham Hanifa has created something original and upbeat. His menu combines a subtle blend of Asian influences from his grandmother's kitchen, to modern Irish and European favourites.

The death has occurred of Eileen DODD (née Quinn) The Crescent, Boyle, Peacefully at Sligo University Hospital, predeceased by her husband Joe, sister Peggy and brother Michael; sadly missed by her daughters Annette Keenehan (Boyle), Elizabeth McDonald (Galway), sons James (Nenagh) and Dennis (Boyle), grandchildren, great-grandsons, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, relatives and friends.
Rest In Peace.
Reposing at Mahon's Funeral Home, Boyle on Sunday from 3 o'clock to 6 o'clock. Removal to St. Joseph's Church, Boyle on Monday for Mass of Christian burial at 12 o'clock. Funeral afterwards to Caldra Cemetery

The death has occurred of Joan LEYLAND, Derrylow Croghan, Boyle. Suddenly at her residence, deeply regretted by her brother ,sister, nieces,nephews relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friend. "Rest in Peace" reposing at Brady's Funeral Home Elphin on Monday morning from 11o clock with removal to St Michael's church Croghan arriving for 12noon Mass, Burial immediately afterwards to Ardcarne Cemetery
• Joan will be fondly remembered as an employee in Taylors on Bridge Street, Boyle

Boyle man Niall Sheerin is delighted with the positive response and large numbers attending an exhibition of his paintings in the Hyde Bridge Gallery, Sligo. The Exhibition will be open and welcome everyone until Tuesday 26th January 2016

• Thanks to the huge numbers of parents and others interested in promotion of underage football in Boyle who turned up for last night's Information Event in the Clubroom. Hopefully they derived benefit from the occasion. As a consequence a strong and enthusiastic Underage Committee was established. They will steer underage football through 2016.

"They won't stop us" might be stroke patient Jimmy Doyle's mantra, for despite the flooding, he keeps up his regular wheelchair trips along Boyle Canal. Best wishes Jimmy - you are an inspiration!
