2. It surprises me that some of our Boyle traders, clubs and organisations do not have a Facebook Page.

3. Some do, but they do not take full advantage of Facebook by (for a start) posting something every day, so that other pages (like this one) can share their news/offers/bargains etc ...

Like it or loathe it, Facebook is a great place to promote your business/news/events, and you can do so for free ... or pay a little to get an even wider spread !!

Quote from Finbarr Feely: "We are very excited to see the renovation work in progress, it will be done in four phases, phase one is almost complete which is our granite and quartz showroom.

• We have teamed up again with our local cabinet maker John Murray Kitchens, John will have seven fully fitted kitchens on display and Feelystone will finish them off with new colours of granite and quartz. 

• We get customers from all the surrounding counties, so it is great exposure for John Murray also, we will also be displaying Roman blinds from Taylor Interiors, this all helps to bring new business to Boyle.

• Phase two is a New Monumental show room, it will be the biggest of its kind in Ireland. New designs and new Materials will be on display.

• Phase three is a New Reception area also displaying fire hearts, customised fireplaces, sealing and grouting products, vanity units and limestone tiles.

• Phase four is upgrading our exterior paving products display, several new paving materials will be laid which will further enhance the existing show area."

Boyle Celtic - Questions and Answers

Saturday 16th November, King House: Boyle Celtic FC will host a Question and Answers night with Dermot Gallagher, the former Premier League referee.  Dermot will give a little flavour of life as one of "the men in the middle" and will no doubt have a few stories to tell. He will also take questions from the floor. Tickets (€10 each) are on sale from any committee member and also at: Londis, Trojan, Railway Bar, An Craobhin and Mullens Warren Xpress Stop.

• We will present those who cycled to Croagh Patrick and raised circa €4000 for us, with a commemorative certificate on the night. Each participant will also receive a copy of the group photo taken on the day of the cycle.

Thursday 14th of November, 6.30 to 9.30pm. Get breastfeeding off to a good start with a class facilitated by Pauline Mc Loughlin Midwife and Lactation Consultant at the Family Life Centre,

Boyle. The class will cover topics such as breastfeeding basics of positioning and latch, impact of birthing on breastfeeding, making a good milk supply, how to maintain a good milk supply, how to know when baby is getting enough milk, coping with nights, what makes for a contented baby, expressing breastmilk, out and about and breastfeeding and connecting with community resources.

• Cost is €65 including handouts, refreshments, and follow up consultation when baby is born.

• Partners welcome to attend. Class size small to facilitate discussion.

There is an Anniversary Exhibition of Roscommon GAA showing in Boyle Library now and until Tuesday 19th November during library opening hours. The exhibition includes images and memorabilia from the All-Ireland Senior Champions of 1943 and 1944, and the All-Ireland Under-21’s Champions of 1978.

Deputy Feighan welcomes Roscommon Water Scheme approvals

Local Government TD Frank Feighan has warmly welcomed the capital funding approval of €12m to enable Roscommon County Council tender for the construction of five new Water Treatment Plants and one pumping station on the Arigna, Boyle/Ardcarne, Roscommon Central and South Roscommon Regional Water Supply Schemes. "Following my strong representations, I'm delighted Environment Minister Phil Hogan travelled to Roscommon to make this announcement, which will significantly address the water quality issues being experienced right across the county."
