Boyle man John Mulligan is involved in a national initiative to bring 5,000 new jobs to Ireland's tourism sector by making Ireland the cycling and walking capital of Europe. The proposal seeks to create a linked network of trails utilising canal towpaths and disused rail lines, as well as minor roads to build a network that will bring back the touring cyclists and long distance walkers to this country, and creating hundreds of jobs to north Roscommon.
