Local Government TD, Frank Feighan, has been informed by the HSE that it is will shortly have a preferred contractor in place to build the state-of-the-art Primary Care Centre for Boyle and surrounding areas.
“The HSE has informed me that the preferred developer will be in place by April 2015. According to the HSE, it is anticipated that construction will then commence 6 months after this preferred bidder is selected, which would be approximately November 2015.
“When complete, the 17,000 square foot two-storey Primary Care Centre, being developed on the grounds of the Plunkett Nursing Home, will include GP suites, consulting rooms, physiotherapy and occupational therapy suites along with a separate dental wing.
“The Centre will ensure that the local community has improved access to a greater range of health services within their own community.
“Primary care is central to this Government’s policy to deliver an integrated and cost-effective healthcare system focussing on delivering more care in the community, including preventative care. Up to 95% of people’s day-to-day health and social care needs can be provided in a community setting.
“I am also delighted that the construction of this Boyle project will also provide a welcome jobs boost for North Roscommon,” concluded Deputy Feighan.
