Abigail ...storm-force winds
Irish Independent report: Storm-force winds and wintry showers will batter the country over the weekend, as Storm Abigail leaves her mark. The mild temperatures enjoyed in recent days will come to an abrupt end, and the mercury will drop amid widespread scattered showers and high winds gusting up to 120kmh. Forecasters have warned that we shouldn't be lulled into a false sense of security after a dry start in some parts today, as "the winds will pick up and rain will arrive".

Boyle Courthouse
Once an iconic heritage building behind Boyle Town Clock, the Courthouse still looks great from the street. However, 'Never judge a book by its cover' was never a more apt simile when one looks at the sad state of the building inside ...
A reminder: Here is a set of photos I took in August 2014 ...
N61 will not be closed
Closure of a large section the N61 from Boyle to Roscommon will not take place as was planned for 9th November for 12 months. Latest information suggests that this u-turn has been forced on Roscommon Co Co by animal welfare people fearing that so far unlocated badger sets (nests) might be disturbed.
Trouble in the Roscommon Co Co camp
Information to hand suggests that the Ros Co Co Roads Section have flatly refused to move from their offices on the Castlerea road to the new Council Civic headquarters. Could it be that the roads section, though paid by Ros Co Co actually answer to the National Roads Authority?
• A similar 'authority' muddle appears to exist where some Co Co employees are paid by the County Council, but are answerable to Irish Water!

Boyle's Hidden Treasures?
A viewer wrote: "Sean, why is there no transparency regarding Boyle's Chamber of Commerce, Boyle TM, Boyle Tidy Towns and the new Boyle Town Team. These 'clubs' could easily update to the general public like Boyle's Sports Clubs do regularly? As you pointed out several times, existing websites are never updated. Their only presence appears to be in running Fundraising Draws and Christmas Lights"
• Well folks, that's it as I got it, and I do not have an answer for this viewer!
