The Wizard of Oz - realboyle photos
Here's hoping my 123 "Wizard of Oz" photos will give you a flavour of the spectacle, colour and special effects I enjoyed so much during this year's Boyle Musical Society production in St. Joseph's Hall. Photos do not capture the wonderful live performances, dancing and musical treats, neither do they capture the creativity, dedication and attention to detail of the show's producer, set designer, backstage crew and front of house personnel, so with these few words I congratulate everyone involved and recommend that if at all possible you attend the show for yourself ... and enjoy!

Enda Smith with the Irish Team to Play Australia
Enda is pictured here on the left with his mum Mary, dad Mike Jnr
and brothers Cian, Ronan and Donal
Tony Conboy wrote: While Enda Smith is not named in the obligatory 23 man squad who will tog out to play in Saturday’s game it is a great achievement for the young Boyle star to be nominated in the 30 man extended panel who will be present in Croke Park. If the series continues Enda has certainly put down a marker for the future. It is testament to his commitment to his home club that Enda played such a big part in the U 21 team’s excellent performance and win in tough conditions on Sunday last, Enda scoring two decisive goals in the process.

Christmas Lights 2015
Despite the miserable weather, 'the usual suspects' (our wonderful volunteers) braved the elements and erected Boyle's Christmas lights last night (Thursday 12th). Later this month, if tradition is followed, we will have the official 'turning on' ceremony, and Santa's arrival ahead of what will be a bumper, not-too-merry Christmas season.
Down through the years, I have been delighted to take seasonal photos, and plan more of the same this year. Memo to self "now that there are drones in the area, wouldn't a video flight over a Christmas Lights Boyle be a treat?" ... please note, Darren Purcell and Brendan Simon etc! Whether or nay, I will fit a video camera to my car then shoot and scoot around town.
