Irish Independent report: The country is facing into another torturous weekend of rain and flooding, as storms continue to batter several counties. Flooding is now getting as bad as the extremes seen in 2009 in several parts of the country."
• As I write, this part of Co. Roscommon is being spared the worst of the weather even though there is flooding in fields through the area, some roads are impassable and at least one farmstead is surrounded by water.
• Through Ireland, two hundred properties are now under water and more than 150 are at imminent risk of flooding as rising water levels now match or exceed record levels set in 2009 in some areas.

Rachel Doherty says local Community Services Programme run by Pobal, such as the Arigna Fuel Mining ExperienceUna Bhan in Boyle and the Cruachan Ai centre in Tulsk now have to bear the additional burden of paying their staff the extra amount.
