Car plunges into Boyle river - occupants rescued

Rescue and ambulance services were quickly on the scene at lunchtime yesterday (Wednesday) when a Sligo registered car hit both sides of Boyle Bridge, demolished a section of the bridge and entered the river on its side. Reportedly the one male (84) and one female (82), are from the Ballina area. They were taken to hospital by ambulance. Fortunately no other vehicles were damaged, and there were no pedestrians on the bridge at the time.

Honda 50 Run next Sunday

Sunday 6th July: John Brehony's Honda 50 Run will start at the Mayfly Inn in Ballinafad. Registration open from 10.30 with run starting at 12.30pm. €20 entry for Honda 50-70-90 and Big Bikes.
