Wishing Boyle Arts Festival Good Luck / Fergus Ahern / Boyle gAA / Higgins & Sons Funeral Directors / "Trees" sculpture

Wishing Boyle Arts Festival Good Luck

Fergus Ahern, ChairpersonFergus on 10th July 2010. He died suddenly on Sunday 19th September 2010

Assuming that there is a hereafter, Fergus Ahern is surely looking on us kindly today and wishing well to the dedicated, conscientious BAF committee as they launch the 25th Anniversary of Boyle Arts Festival 2014. Fergus was the engine that drove Boyle Arts Festival from the humble beginnings set down by Barry Feely and myself 25 years ago to the heady heights of national and international recognition. We grew and played together as children in St. Patrick Street. Today I remember my old friend Fergus, the challenges, his flamboyance, his generous nature and all he did for Boyle. Fergus, I pray you are at peace.
