Nice wall paintings at the Bazaar

P9120660One of Michelle Simon's wall paintings at The Bazaar. Bridge Street

The weather is promised good again today. I will definitely be one of many who will enjoy a cuppa and a 'calorie-free' {joke!) snack bar at The Bazaar on Bridge street. I will enjoy the peaceful oasis Glen and Diane have created in the newly decorarted courtyard through the back door of their coffee shop. I really like the ambiance of this space helped along greatly by Michelle Simon's continental-flavoured wall paintings. Sample it for youself while the good weather is still with us.

Ireland and the Great War

Great WarImage: Roscommon Co Council

John Mulligan wrote:

"Irish water estimates that 20,000 consumers are affected in Ireland. Local data shows just over 20,000 people affected in Roscommon, so effectively the problem is confined to one small region in Ireland, a triangle encompassing Castlerea, Boyle and Strokestown. If every other county council in ireland was able to provide clean water, this debacle points to one thing -- incompetence by Roscommon County Council and the unwillingness or inability of the elected councillors to deal with that.
I debated this on the Matt Cooper show with councillor Pascal Fitzmaurice earlier in the week, but he still doesn't get it; he is still in denial as to the reason why our water is undrinkable.
I thought we got rid of most of the non-performers in May, but maybe we missed a few."
