Our U12 B Team had two outings in the Division 5 Championship during the past week. They lost narrowly to Kilglaas Gaels in Kilglass on Wednesday evening and they drew with Kilmore in the Abbey Park on Saturday. They are scheduled to play St Brigids on Saturday next at 11.30am in the Abbey Park in the next game in this competition. We are awaiting the fixing of a date for the Keenan Cup Final, which is always a big event for the Club. The U16s lost to Michael Glaveys in the Division 3 Championship in Ballinlough on Wednesday evening last.
The National Automation Limited Minors had a good win over Michael Glaveys in the Division 3 Championship in a high scoring game in the Abbey Park on Sunday..
The Cooney Motors/ Cooney’s Centra Juniors are still awaiting news of their next fixture in the Division 4 Championship, while the National Automation Limited U21s are in preparation for the upcoming Division 1 Championship.
The Club’s Draw to raise funds for the improvement of the training pitch in the Abbey Park has been re-fixed for Friday 26th September. There are excellent prizes, including a trailer load of firewood, 500 litres of heating oil, a voucher for €100 and a cash prize of €100. Cards have been distributed to Club members and players and you are asked to support our sellers. Those who have cards are asked to make a special effort to sell the lines during the next few weeks.
The Club is embarking on a used clothes, shoes and mobile phone fundraising collection. You are asked to gather up your unwanted clothes, shoes and phones and drop them to the Clubroom on Saturday next at 12.30pm, or at other times by arrangement with Club officers.

The big event of next weekend is the Ladies Intermediate County Semi Final against Western Gaels which will be held in the Abbey Park on Saturday next at 5pm. We would appreciate the full support of all the GAA community in the locality for this important game. Club members are asked to make themselves available to act as stewards.
