Boyle Church of Ireland Thanksgiving Service

Residents, multi-denominational clergy, politicians and Roscommon Co Council reps attended a special Thanksgiving service at Boyle Church of Ireland on Sunday 16th. The service was a celebration following completion of the roofing project at the Church by the local community and specialist contractors. Reverend Samuel Glenfield, Bishop of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh presided.

National Schools Choir Concert

National School choirs from Croghan, Derrane and Tulsk sang and performed beautifully on Sunday afternoon at a concert in St. Joseph's Church, Boyle. Congratulations to their mentors and all involved.

Paddy the Irishman is in the South of France, and cannot understand why Pierre attracts all the girls at the beach and poor Paddy attracts none. So he asks Pierre, "Why do you get all the girls and I get none". Pierre says "Take a potato, tuck it in your swimming togs, it drives the women wild".
• So Paddy stuffs a potato in his togs and parades up and down the beach, but still no woman notices him. Paddy complains to Pierre saying "I've tried it, it doesn't work". Pierre looks at Paddy and says "Paddy have you tried putting the potato down the front of your togs" | |
Sale of Work
Abbey Haven Care Centre & Nursing Home will hold a Sale of Work be residents on Saturday 29th November. All money raised will provide additional day trips and enhancements to the current activities programme.

Boyle Musical Society - 'Grease'

'Grease' will open in St. Joseph's Hall this Wednesday 19th and continue for five nights including Sunday 23rd. Tickets €15, concessions €12 for the Thursday and Sunday. All tickets €10 for Wednesday night.
