Bloomsday Celebrations at King House (tonight)

Thursday 11th June, starting at 8pm: We’re marking Bloomsday Season at King House this year with two plays by Leitrim playwright and actor Donal O’Kelly, who is joined on stage be his daughter Katie.
“Revolted” is a pair of solo plays, recalling the connection between James Joyce and his friend Frank Sheehy Skeffington and they can both be seen in King House Boyle tonight.
The plays earned Katie O’Kelly a “Best Solo Performance” nomination from “The Stage” in Edinburgh.

Lough Key Aquathon

Wayne Reid, winner of last night's Lough Key Aquathon 2015. The 750metre + 5km run event was very well supported in the evening sunlight of our beautiful Lough Key Forest Park.

John Rushe R.I.P.

The death has occurred peacefully of John Rushe, Cloonloo, Boyle, Co. Roscommon. John is deeply loved and mourned by his wife Monica, sons Christopher and Joseph, nephews and nieces, extended family, neighbours and a large circle of friends

The death has occurred of Muriel Monson (née Gorman)

Derrymaquirk, Boyle, Peacefully in the tender care of nurses and staff at Abbey Haven Nursing Home, Boyle. Wife of the late William. Deeply regretted by her loving son Earnest, daughter-in-law Irene, grandchildren Trevor, Diane, Alan and David, daughters-in-law and son-in-law, great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces and friends.

The rain held off, the day was mild and sunny for this year's Corpus Christi Procession. Welcome new 'apres' events were the bouncy castles and social get together for tea & buns in St. Joseph's Resource Centre.

King House "Joyced"

Thursday 11th: We have two solo shows (by a father and daughter team) playing in King House. Both shows are thematically linked. One tells the story of James Joyce’s odyssey through Dublin prior to his departure in 1904. The other is about Frank Sheehy-Skeffington, the forgotten executed man of 1916. These two critically-acclaimed actors come together to create a father-daughter double-bill and is sure to go down very well indeed.
