Update 18th March

Change the Future - Astonishing Fact - 17th March

There are 1.8 million cars on Irish roads, which use a third of all energy used in Ireland.
Stopping global warming is not only good for your pocket, and good for your planet but it is also good for your health. Walking or cycling instead of driving to close by places means that you emit no carbon dioxide and makes you healthier.

St. Patrick's Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you and yours. Today your relations and friends will think of you whether you are with us in Boyle for 3pm Parade, or enjoying the day far from home.
I send special greetings to my family closeby and those in London, Savannah, Sligo, Melbourne and Los Angeles.
Way back in 1994, the small hairs on the back of the neck of every Irish man and woman were set a-tingling with a sensational performance ... one that brought Ireland thundering on to the world stage in a special way. Proudly we are Ireland and proud we are to have talents like that of Michael Flatley and Riverdance. Sadly Michael's Sligo dad died a few days ago.

Priest named King of the Ring

We've had to endure singing priests, radical priests, thieving priests, abusing priests and one boring sermon after another. Could they answer their calling and do their job a little better each day ... now this: "He may be a man of the cloth, but Fr Pierre 'Jalapeno' Pepper became the king of the ring when he was victorious in a white-collar boxing match at the weekend."

Boyle Sports Complex was the splendid venue for this weekend's Final 4 Basketball Shannonside Senior Tournament. 14 teams competed and offered excellent competition, play and entertainment to all who attended from Friday night through Saturday and until around 8.30pm on Sunday.
Congratulations to our Boyle organisers: Geno Mattimoe, Saoirse Flaherty, Siobhan Conroy, Ollie Keville, Mary Flynn and friends for a job very well done. Results to follow ...
