Boyle Arts Festival 2015 - July 23rd to 1st August

Local Art 2015

Preparations are well underway for one of our best ever Arts Festivals. The photo above gives a pointer to the daunting task ahead for Tish Golden ... hanging the wonderful entries for the local Art Expo in the Parochial School on Military Road. Comment has been made that the standard of entries is always very high, and exceptionally high this year!!

Boyle - A Walking Tour

Boyle Walking Tour

This was the cover of a very informative, but out-of-print booklet authored by the late Ann Toolan. In the book, photography is credited to David Knight, publishing by Ireland West Tourism and printing by Purcell Print.
• Over the next several days I hope to refer (by quotation) to some of the contained information so that viewers may read historical details about several Boyle locations as published in the booklet. Where possible I will accompany each article with an 'as it is now' photograph.
• The booklet and its photos are copyrighted, and of course I will not knowingly breach copyrights.

Sligo's Lough Key Forest??

Irish independent report: "Filming is underway for the O'Donnell's highly anticipated new reality tv show, 'Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road Trip’. The couple have embarked on a two week tour of Ireland's B&B's for their new television series." "While in the West, one of their challenges was to tour Sligo's Lough Key Forest on segways." ... oops!! Since when did Lough Key Forest have a Sligo address?
