Billy Reid, Chairperson Boyle & District Angling and Christine Mitchell were delighted to present Kyle with €975 for the Kyle Casey Fund. The money was raised from generous contributions at the recent Angler of the Year competition and the Martin Mitchell Memorial Cup Angling Competition.
• Kyle will return to hospital next week for further treatment. We look forward to meeting him again soon, and wish him a swift return to good health.

Broadband upgrade for Boyle

There are a number of stages to the National Broadband Plan. The first step is the completion of the High Speed Broadband Map 2016. Once completed, all parts of Ireland will have access to a modern and reliable broadband network, capable of supporting current and future generations. Use the National Broadband Plan map [here...] to see current and planned coverage in your area. Press the + symbol repeatedly to zoom on to Boyle. The blue represents those areas that the commercial operators will cover by the end of 2016

Boyle is gearing up for what promises to be a bumper festive season. Already traders are decorating their themed shop windows. I have been told that many of our traders will have special offers available through the season, and that efforts will be made to make Boyle a one-stop location for as many of your gift and other Christmas products as possible.
• The new Christmas street lights have been erected promising us bright and glittering evening/night displays in Boyle from switch-on in early December. Each year for the past 10 years, I have been delighted to publish photos of Christmas Lights in Boyle. I will add to this year's album daily and as traders decorate for Christmas.

Eating Out in Boyle

"You eat first with your eyes", Polish chef Mirek once told me. In other words presentation of the food on your plate might be referred to as a sort of culinary aphrodisiac. Whatever the end result, there are now a number of great places to eat out in Boyle. Recently I had lunch in Clarke's Bar & Restaurant and a Chinese meal in Tai Chi Court. Both were just as tasty as their excellent presentation suggested they might be.
