6th December, St. Joseph's Hall: Arrangements ahead of Boyle GAA's "Who Wants to be a Thousandaire fundraiser" are going really well. Thousandaireis an exciting and highly lucrative fundraising event that is ideally suited to schools, clubs and voluntary organisations of all types. Tickets for "Who Wants to be a Thousandaire" are on sale in Mary McGee Fashions, Main Street and from Mary Clifford (086 816 4541) or from any of the Officers of the Male Club or Ladies Club.

Boyle Lights and Santa

Aughanagh Parish Bazaar

The Aughanagh Parish Bazaar will take place in Ballinafad Hall on this Sunday 30th November at 4pm in aid of Aughanagh Parish. Donations for the Bazaar can be given to Fr. Alan Conway, Ballinafad, 071 966 6006. All are very welcome.

Abolish Irish Water

Shannonside FM report: Roscommon County Council is the latest local authority to call for the abolition of Irish Water. An original motion put forward by Independent Councillor Valerie Byrne called for the suspension of water charges – but this was quickly updated to the overall abolition of Irish Water – proposed by Fianna Fáil’s Paddy Kilduff.
 


Early Christmas revelry!

What do Pindara Doctors want for Christmas? A group of Medical Specialists from Pindara Hospital on the Gold Coast in Australia got together to 'dispense' some Christmas cheer and a massive 'feel good' by performimg a choreographed routine to Mariah Carey's "All I want for Christmas is You". By the way, one of the dancers is my brother, gynaecologist, Dr. Tim O'Dowd.

It has been reported that 160 employees in the Bank of America (MBNA), Carrick-on-Shannon building will be made redundant this coming weekend.
