Moone Boy authors win at Irish Book Awards

Winners of the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards 2014 were announced in a ceremony at Dublin's Double Tree Hilton hotel last night.
In the senior category, the Specsavers Childrens Book of the Year went to Chris O'Dowd and Nick Vincent Murphy for the wonderful, funny and touching Moone Boy: The Blunder Years (published by Macmillan Publishing Based on Chris' popular tv series, this book is bound to be a favourite in every home!

Christmas Flower Arranging at Tawnytaskin

There will be a Christmas Arranging night-out with tips and hints in Tawnytaskin Community centre on Wednesday 10th December , starting at 8pm
• Slides from the Chelsea Show 2014 will be shown.

Boyle Scout Den Re-Opening and Blessing - today

Trevor wrote: Boyle Scouts will hold an official Re-Opening and blessing of our Scout Den on Sunday 30th November at 3.00pm. We will also celebrate our 35th anniversary since Scouting was reformed in Boyle back in 1979.
• We would like to invite all past Members, Leaders, Committee, their families and all friends of Scouting over this 35 year period to join with us on the day to help mark this great occasion in the long tradition and history of Scouting in Boyle.
• There will be an unveiling of a memorial to the late Tony Sweeney (RIP) and presentation to the Group by the Beirne family of an Original Scout Shirt and Photo from the 1933 Boyle Investiture which belonged to one of the Scouts, Kevin Beirne (RIP).
• Our new Beaver, Cub and Scout members for the current year 2014/2015 will also be invested on the day.
