Boyle GAA "Who Wants to be a Thousandaire"

Boyle GAA Clubs (Male Club and Ladies Club) have joined forces to bring the hugely popular "Who Wants to be a Thousandaire" show to St Joseph’s Hall, Boyle on 6th December. The purpose of the event is to defray the repayment costs of the extensive infrastructural developments which have taken place in Abbey Park in recent years, and to help fund future developments in the grounds.
• Nine (9) major sponsors have come on board and work is progressing very satisfactorily  in attracting advertisers. This will enable nine (9) rounds of the quiz to be held on 6th December, with the opportunity for €1,000 to be won in each round. Potentially a total of €9,000 could be won on the night.
• This is the first time that such an event has been held in the North Roscommon area and it is generating massive interest. The show is based on the popular television quiz show and it will feature "50/50", "Ask the Audience " and "Phone a Friend". The show is fully computerised and is provided on behalf of the Clubs by Pallas Marketing Limited.
• A Press Launch will be held on Wednesday evening next at 8pm in Boyle GAA Clubroom in the Abbey Park, when details of the major sponsors will be unveiled, and further details of the show will be outlined.

Lough Key Triathlon Club - Run In The Dark

The club is delighted to be involved with the Run in the Dark event again this year and are planning the run in the scenic surroundings of Lough Key Forest Park on Wednesday November 12th. This is an international charity event which takes place all over the world on the same day in aid of spinal injury research. It was a very successful event last year with a 5k loop around the beautiful trails in the park.

The start and finish will be located at the entrance to the Lough Key Activity Centre. Both 5k and 10k loops will start at the same time so please aim to be there approx. 10-15 minutes before the start (8pm) so that we can get everyone organised.Just to remind you, there is no lighting in the park and it will be quite dark so anyone taking part must ensure to bring some form of lighting with them. The club does not take any responsibility for participants and you take part at your own risk.
Last year, it was a beautiful but cold winter's evening and all enjoyed a good hot cup of tea afterwards to take the chill off. We look forward to doing the same again this year.
