'Dislike' button coming to Facebook

Facebook is to add a "dislike" button to its social network, founder Mark Zuckerberg has said. In a Q+A session held at Facebook's headquarters in Menlo Park, California, the 31-year-old said the button would be a way for people to express empathy. He said Facebook was "very close" to having it ready for user testing.

Have you a child aged between 8 and 12 years that would like to take part in this year's production of The Wizard of Oz? Boyle Musical Society are looking for children to play the parts of little people and munchkins. We are holding special auditions for children on this Sunday, September 20th from 3pm to 5pm in St. Joseph's Hall. All children to be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the audition. The Wizard of Oz will be staged from November 18th to 22nd

GAA u12 game

The rescheduled U12 Keenan Cup semi final between Boyle and St Michaels will be played on Wednesday 16th in Cootehall at 7pm.

King House Boyle Culture Night - Friday 18th

Friday 18th September marks Culture Night 2015 and King House in Boyle will once again be participating in the national celebration. On Culture Night, arts, heritage and cultural organisations open their doors until late with hundreds of free events, tours, talks & performances for you, your family and friends to enjoy.

Boyle Arts Festival 2015 was a resounding success and the Boyle Arts Festival Committee would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all who helped make it so memorable. We would especially like to pay tribute to all those who continue to support us year after year and without whom, we would undoubtedly have no Boyle Arts Festival.

Boyle Scouts

Registration Night for all New and Existing members, Wednesday 23rd September, 7.00 pm and 9.00 pm in the Scout Den. All Parents who wish to enrol a child for the coming year, must please register them on this night. The minimum age is strictly 6 years old.
• While accepting registration of New Members, places will be dependent on returning member numbers and therefore cannot be immediately guaranteed. Weekly meetings will resume the following week, beginning Monday 28th September.
• Anyone who may be interested in becoming a Leader in any of the Sections would be most welcome and can contact the Group Leader on 086 836 0222 or any Leader for further details.
