Jason wrote: Another season has come to an end here in King House (our door closes later today). The house will open again next month for the arrival of the McAleese Collection and there will be other events taking place here, including some weddings, launch of the McAleese Collection the Christmas Craft Fair etc., so we’re not (really) finished for the winter!

McAleese Collection at King House being launched on Oct 16th will prove to be major visitor attraction. Roscommon/South Leitrim Fine Gael TD, Frank Feighan, has said the McAleese Collection to be launched on Friday, October 16th at King House will prove to be a major visitor attraction for Boyle.
"President Mary McAleese has donated more than 60 gifts to the State she received during her 14 years in office. Many of those items were presented by Heads of State from around the world, including Barack Obama and Yasser Arafat. To have some of these presentations now on permanent display at King House in Boyle will certainly prove to be a major attraction for visitors at home and abroad. Undoubtedly, the collection will enhance the visitor experience at King House.
I’m delighted to have been able help to secure this McAleese collection for Boyle and I would like to sincerely thank staff at Roscommon County Council and at King House for their work in organising this wonderful showcase." Contact: Deputy Feighan, (086) 833 1234

Dodd's Music Session Friday night
Brian Delaney R.I.P.
Sadly, but peacefully, Brian Delaney, Copse, Boyle died this afternoon. I knew and respected Brian as a friend long before I met his son Joseph and daughter Lindsey. Back then we met frequently in the Moylurg Inn after I caught the bug for playing pool. At that time Brian would read the paper followed by a few games of pool - he was a good player and had a sparkling sense of humour that pleased everyone present. May his gentle soul find everlasting peace.
